In September, it was announced that we were shortlisted for not 1, but 4 Learning Technology Awards. As the premier awards in the EdTech space, we were incredibly proud of all of our nominations.

Last night, Learning Technologies announced the winners of their 2017 awards at a glamorous ceremony in London. AVADO were shortlisted for no fewer than four awards and were delighted to win two Gold Awards.

Melissa Venner was recently chosen as CIPD’s People Management Awards Outstanding Student of the Year 2017, thanks to the incredible results she achieved in her organisation by putting into practice what she learned on her online CIPD L&D qualification with AVADO. We caught up with her to find out the full story.

A lot of our students tell us they decided to start studying an online qualification in order to switch careers, and Giulianna Boscardin is a great example. Looking to move from L&D into HR, she needed a course that would prepare her for the change without interfering with her home and professional commitments. New research, released this week by AVADO, has revealed that a quarter (24%) of women on maternity leave are not being offered the same training opportunities as their colleagues. This is having a negative knock-on effect by affecting their readiness to return to work once their maternity leave is over.
